TOWN OF ORIENTA
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
November 8, 2025

The meeting was called to order at 8:16 am by Chairman Mark Hoefling. Members present: Hoefling, Supervisors James Bailey and Troy Kavajecz, Clerk Clyde Clauson and Treasurer John Tribys.

Approval of the Agenda: Bailey moved, Kavajecz seconded approval of the agenda. Motion carried.

Pledge of Allegiance

Minutes: Motion by Kavajecz, second by Bailey to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting of October 11, 2025. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: General fund – $186,270.50, highway fund – $26,831.74 for a total cash on hand of $213,102.24. Motion by Bailey, second by Kavajecz to receive the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

Road Report: Activities – graded roads, ditching, salt sand delivered, other maintenance as needed.

Citizen’s Input: Nothing

OLD BUSINESS

1. Ambulance Report: No report.

NEW BUSINESS

1. 2026 Town of Orienta Budget: Bailey moved, Kavajecz seconded approval of the 2026 town budget. Motion carried.
2. Treasurer’s Indemnification: Kavajecz moved, Bailey seconded the following:Pursuant to Section 70.62 (2) of Wisconsin Statutes, the Board of Supervisors of the Town of Orienta obligates itself to pay to the County Treasurer all county taxes required to be paid by the town treasurer in case such town treasurer fails to do so.

   Motion carried.

3. Bayfield County Zoning Survey: The board completed the survey.

INFORMATION: Wisconsin Towns Association and County Food Drive information was shared.

Payment of Vouchers: Vouchers were signed, and bills were paid.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be Saturday, December 13, 2025.

Following a motion, the meeting was adjourned.
