TOWN OF ORIENTA
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
May 9, 2026

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by Chairman Mark Hoefling. Members present: Hoefling, Supervisors James Bailey and Troy Kavajecz, Clerk Clyde Clauson and Treasurer John Tribys.

Approval of the Agenda: Bailey moved, Kavajecz seconded approval of the agenda. Motion carried.

Pledge of Allegiance

Minutes: Motion by Kavajecz, second by Bailey to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting of April 11, 2026, and the special board meeting of April 21, 2026. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: General fund – $261,979.26, highway fund – $43,898.33 for a total cash on hand of $305,877.59. Motion by Bailey, second by Kavajecz to receive the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

Road Report: Activities – preparing equipment for summer activities, grading roads, spreading gravel from stockpile and cleaning up cemetery; other maintenance as needed.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Ambulance Report: No report.

NEW BUSINESS

1. Open Gravel Bids: Gravel bids from Olson Bros Contractors of Brule and Trusty Trucking were opened. Kavajecz moved, Bailey seconded that we award the gravel contract to Olson Bros Contractors which had the low bid. Motion carried.

INFORMATION: Notices regarding managed forest law properties, Bayfield County amendatory ordinances, and Department of Revenue tax reimbursements were shared with the board.

Payment of Vouchers: Vouchers were signed, and bills were paid.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Following a motion, the meeting was adjourned.
