TOWN OF ORIENTA
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
May 10, 2025

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by Chairman Mark Hoefling. Members present: Hoefling, Supervisor Troy Kavajecz, Clerk Clyde Clauson and Treasurer John Tribys. Supervisor James Bailey was excused.

Approval of the Agenda: Kavajecz moved, Hoefling seconded approval of the agenda. Motion carried.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Minutes: Motion by Kavajecz, second by Hoefling to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting of April 12, 2025. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: General fund – $203,329.05, highway fund – $50,349.12 for a total cash on hand of $253,678.17. Motion by Hoefling, second by Kavajecz to receive the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

Road Report: Activities – readied equipment for summer, graded roads, cleaned cemetery, other maintenance of machinery as needed.

Citizen’s Input / Guest Speaker: None

OLD BUSINESS
Ambulance Report: Mark gave the report.

NEW BUSINESS
Gravel Bids: Bids were opened. Olson Bros and Trusty Trucking both submitted bids of $20.10 per cubic yard including delivery. Kavajecz moved, Hoefling seconded to accept both bids and split the total quantity ordered equally. Motion carried.

Bayfield County Zoning – Shoreline Grading – Marcusen: Kavajecz moved, Hoefling seconded approval of the permit. Motion carried.

INFORMATION: Salt shed inspection results, county forest road grant, and DNR managed forest land changes were received and shared.

Payment of Vouchers: Vouchers were signed, and bills were paid.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be Saturday, June 14, 2025.

Following a motion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:54 am.
