TOWN OF ORIENTA
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
July 12, 2025

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by Chairman Mark Hoefling. Members present: Hoefling, Supervisors James Bailey and Troy Kavajecz, Clerk Clyde Clauson and Treasurer John Tribys.

Approval of the Agenda: Bailey moved, Kavajecz seconded approval of the agenda. Motion carried.

The Pledge of Allegiance was said.

Minutes: Motion by Kavajecz, second by Bailey to approve the minutes of the regular board meeting of June 14, 2025. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: General fund – $198,952.27, highway fund – $8,533.82 for a total cash on hand of $207,486.09. Motion by Bailey, second by Kavajecz to receive the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

Road Report: Activities – gravel hauled, roadsides mowed and brushed, other maintenance of machinery as needed.

Citizen’s Input / Guest Speaker: None

OLD BUSINESS
Ambulance Report: Mark gave the report.

NEW BUSINESS
Bridge Aid Request: Kavajecz moved, Bailey seconded to request bridge aid to replace a culvert on Harper Road. Motion carried.

Xcel Project: Xcel seeks permission to cross Orienta-owned property to rebuild its transmission line along Airport Road. Bailey moved, Kavajecz seconded to grant such permission. Motion carried.

INFORMATION: The commercial electrical permitting process, 2026 WRS rate increases, and the Bayfield County Clean Sweep date were shared.

Payment of Vouchers: Vouchers were signed, and bills were paid.

The next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors will be Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Following a motion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:44 am.
